This post was sponsored by WaterWipes as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central. I received complimentary products to facilitate my review.

Baby wipes. I don’t know how I’d ever lived without them. When you have children that potty train late, they become a household staple for so many years that you need them around even after they are trained.

The problem is that many brands of disposable wipes contain unsafe chemicals, including parabens, phthalates, PEG’s, propylene glycol and phenoxyethanol. These chemicals have been linked to hormone disruption, cancer, birth defects, infertility and more. Additionally, some of these products contain fragrances – and the chemicals in those fragrances can contain anything because the formulas are proprietary and ingredients don’t have to be revealed.

But don’t take my word for it, you can try it yourself. For me, when I use traditional brands on my delicate parts, I know it’s very unpleasant and sometimes it even burns. Do you want those chemicals coming into contact with your child’s skin? Heck no!

There is, however, a nontoxic way to clean your child. WaterWipes are a great European brand of chemical free baby wipes. They do not contain toxic preservatives so they won’t last forever. Even if you do buy them in bulk, though, you can store them for up to 15 months before they are opened. Once open, they will last 1 month. If only WaterWipes had been around when my kids were babies!

WaterWipes contain only 2 ingredients: 99.9% purified water and 0.1% grapefruit seed extract (GSE). Kids who struggle with late potty training or have gastrointestinal issues and sensitive skin like my daughter often react with an instant rash when they have the runs or eat something they should not have. Toxic products, including wipes, diapers or sanitary pads that contain extra chemicals and preservatives, can aggravate skin, making clean up uncomfortable and possibly even painful for your little one. That can then have ramifications when potty training time comes along – whether or not your child has delays!

But do they work? Absolutely. With such a safe and effective wipe, we have managed to get through the hiccups of a girl starting puberty and another finally free of diapers, not to mention my own pre-menopausal irregularities. With WaterWipes, I don’t have to worry about toxins. I can use these chemical-free baby wipes for all my needs – even if I’m not strictly wiping bums – because they are durable and effective. How else do I use them? Check it out:

Yea, that is NOT a shadow. Lucy, what did you do?? Ok, it only happened the one time…

I only had ONE job to do on Halloween. Unfortunately, it was the grossest one of the day. I don’t remember pumpkin guts being so nasty!

Salsa on the wall that is right before the entrance to our bathroom and is exactly where she “wipes” her hands before washing them. #smh

It used to be hard to find WaterWipes, but now I’m happy to say they are available at my favorite retailer, GIANT. We visit GIANT at least twice a week because they have a large variety of options for those of us trying to live a non-toxic and allergen-free life. WaterWipes are easy to find and more affordable than some other cleaner brands. I highly recommend them, particularly if your child has sensitive skin, is an older child with special needs or you are detoxing your child like we are.
