Tooth Fairy Strikes for the First Time! (Well, sort of…)

OK, so if you’ve been a long time reader, you know that Amelia has a habit of losing teeth while we are on vacation.  Three to be exact, which is the sum total of all the baby teeth she’s lost.

Two years ago, she smiled at us on some line in the Magic Kingdom, where that tooth is guarded no doubt by Cinderella.  Last July, we noticed another missing in St. Pete’s, so it might be at the bottom of the hotel pool.

This year was slightly different.  First of all, I think Amelia believes she’s done something wrong when her tooth fell out. I’ve no idea why – maybe it was our shocked expressions when she showed up at MK with a that gap in her mouth.  Anyway, this time, she woke up with a front top tooth missing – no “not-seeing” that gap!  I recalled the night before she’d made funny mouth noises in bed.  Not quite grinding, more like a clicking, and when I asked her if she was alright, she dismissively declared, “I’m fine!”

So I got the bright idea to shake out her bed, and out flew a tiny tooth.  She was upset when she saw it, but I told her that it was ok and we’d bring it home to the tooth fairy because she couldn’t find us on vacation.

I completely forgot, even with email reminders, several times, but yesterday evening I showed her the tooth, put it in her jewelry box, and said I’d tell the tooth fairy.

A few hours later, I went to bed. It was about 30 minutes before I remembered the tooth!  Thank goodness we had a dollar, no cheap quarters for my kid, after all, she was behind by 2 teeth!

This morning I woke her up by telling about the tooth fairy and she went for the “present”.  Her reaction?

“A ticket??”

“No honey, that’s a dollar, money.”

So now the only solution is to have her dad take her to the dollar store, maybe tomorrow or later.  Sheesh…

I guess I’m as bad as the S***est tooth fairy ever, lol..
