Life is in my face…

Whew, this summer has been a ride already!  So, I’m glad to be back, having been hacked on Monday and my host kindly took down my site.  In the meanwhile, I just decided to restart my writing blog, since it was only 69 posts deleted. I’ll add back the ones of value.

Meanwhile, I just did the design for a sweet new tween site, Pixie Magazine, send your daughters over for some fun. That and one other project ate up my spring so I just want to relax this summer.

Unfortunately, it turns out that Amelia’s school lost some key funding (budget cuts, sigh) and I *was* going to worry about the school opening in the fall.  However, I’ve been getting a lot of “if it’s in God’s hands, worrying is wrong” messages so I’m going with that.  Have to think of ways to support Seven Gen with zero dollars in my pocket…

Today was Amelia’s portfolio day.  Parents are invited to eat lunch with their children while the  kids show their portfolios.  The kids made hard-bound books.  Mrs. Richardson came over and told me that Amelia had to show all the kids and any adult she could find her book, she was so proud of it!

And I’m proud of her, and that gives mommy writer (me) all kinds of ideas on how to encourage her learning over the summer!

In other news, if you live in Emmaus, PA, you may want to know that at the zoning board’s next meet (June 24, 7pm), they are considering allowing an adult entertainment club opening on 3rd and Main St. – a few blocks from my daughter’s school.  Emmaus has been placed twice in Money Magazine’s Top 100 Places to Live in America.  I agree that this will destroy the neighborhood – but I’m not a resident, so get out there and defend your town, if you do!

Other good news: Chris found my novel!  I had lost a few months of edits, and he can see. It’ll cost about $200+ to retrieve but worth it.

So, what’s new with you?

Welcome Kristen, glad to encourage you! I have to set up a schedule as well – it’s nice to see they can work. We have a babysitter, but I haven’t been able to get in touch with her lately. (I work at home too, so I know how that feels!)

Wow, girl. Nicely put “life… in my face.” 🙂 I totally get that. New business, had a child in the ER today… well, you know how it is. Glad to hear you found your manuscript and can recover it! Have a great day, life-in-your-face-and-all!

Love your writing. My son was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome this week and it’s kind of throwing everything for a loop. It’s good to see another mom balancing life so well. (www.starkravingmadmommy.com)

    Hi Gina,
Great blog you have. I’m the marketing director for Prep Sportswear. I have some ideas for how you can raise money for Seven Gen (it’s all on the up and up, nothing sketchy). Plus, I’d love to be a sponsor for one of your giveaways.
Check out the site http://www.prepsportswear.com and/or our fundraising program http://www.prepsportswear.com/customerservice/fundraising.aspx

I look forward to hearing from you.
