The last day of the year, and I’m looking forward to a great 2013! My number one goal will be meal planning and getting the girls on fish oils.
The progress I’ve seen? Zoe understood that she had gifts and opened them without help OR coaching. That is really a first! She did however seem disappointed, as if she didn’t get the “thing” she wanted. OK, we have a goal for next Christmas – understanding what she wants!
Number two, we took the girls to see “Rise of the Guardians” on Christmas Eve, and this is the FIRST time Zoe sat completely engaged for the entire film. Plus, no emotional outbursts or ear covering at ALL. (Only on the previews, especially the ones we’ve already seen a million times, like “Despicable Me 2.”
As soon as we left the theater, like magic, snow had just started to fall and Amelia gasped, then said, “Jack Frost!” So kudos to her for connecting the protagonist of the film and what he does to events in the real world. Your write mama couldn’t have done it any better.
OH, and they LOVED the snow!! Zoe actually DRESSED HERSELF, hat and gloves included, never has before, so they could go out and play in the snow.
And then without warning, they did this:
Amelia has been zipping around on her bike indoors. She has training wheels, yes, but already seems to know how to pedal. (This skill escapes Zoe.) Now all we need is to pray for warm weather!
It’s been a great year, so I wish you and all yours a happy, healthy new year filled with achievements for your child and joy for you!
Still making big plans for Mom-Blog and 2 other blogs I’m going to offshoot. Got to get my ducks in a row first! Have a great new year, and stay safe tonight.

It appears they had a blast! We have yet to see snow over where I live in VA. I can’t wait! I imagine my little one following the same script (snow angels and throwing snow. 🙂 )
