Of Stuffy Noses & Science Fairs: Kleenex Saves the Day

Science Fair Project

Amelia models the Tissue Belt!

I volunteered to be part of the blog tour for Kleenex, which is a big product in my house…or at least it was, before we dropped chocolate and dairy from Amelia’s diet and she stopped having a runny nose 365 days a year. Still, she and the rest of us have our colds, and what  schoolbag is complete without a Kleenex pocket pack?

We, however, used that pocket pack for a whole different reason last semester: part of her science fair project!  Amelia and her aide came up with her Invention Fair project, which not only had to be an invention but had to solve a problem that the student experienced for herself.  So Amelia, with Mommy’s help and a special nod to Aunt Carolyn (my sister is WAY more experienced at grade school science projects than me), invented the tissue belt!  We bought a cell phone holder that had a flip pocket, added a pocket pack, and hooked it on a belt.  See the photo? Presto! The pocket pack fit like a glove and Amelia made an awesome invention.

Kleenex has a new wallet pack as well. I actually like this a lot, because it’s neat, organized, and no tissues slip out.  (Hubby, though, prefers the old pack because “I don’t want anything holding up getting a tissue out!!”)  Sure, hon, but you don’t carry a purse full of nice things, do you?  The wallet pack is attractive and like I said, neat and organized, so I like it.

My favorite new product by far though is the auto pack.  How many times have I stuck the box of tissues into the car, only to have it slide around the dash, then squish when I put it on the floor in the passenger side, and invariably by the time you actually need a tissue, the box is who-knows-where in the van. (For some reason, this mystery location more often than not turns out to be the trunk, so I can only assume my husband is tossing it the length of the car when I’m not looking.)  The awesome auto pack fits just right in the section in the front seat door, where I can forget about it until I need a tissue.  Love it! Sometimes it really is the little things in life…
