Hope you had a Happy 4th!

To all my American readers, hope your holiday was sweet and safe.

I can’t help it, I get goofy on this holiday. It’s one of my favorites. When I think about what it took to get our country off the ground, and all that the founding fathers did (and some of their children, AHEM) it makes me weak in the knees. How lucky are we to be born here? In spite of what’s going on, the insanity of our political system, and the sickened economy and everything else.

Some people talk about leaving, but I think I’m here in America forever. It’s my home, in my core, in my guts, and I love it, I really do, with all it’s faults and uncertainty.

It’s never too late to celebrate.  Here is what you can do any day to celebrate your love for your country:

  • Watch a great movie like “John Adams”
  • Learn more at a great site like this one
  • Read the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of Independence
  • Make a plan to visit some place of importance of our country’s history, and take your kids
  • Thank a person in service to our country, especially the military. And if you ARE military person or family, thank you!!! You rock.

OK, enough gushing. Love you US, but I gotta get up in a few hours.  ‘Night all!
