Happy Birthday, Amelia

Today is a very special day for me because 8 years ago today, I became a mommy. Amelia, I remember, you were so tiny, no bigger than a loaf of bread.  You were such a good baby, and even now, you throw so much love even at people you don’t know, it amazes me.

You are such a ray of sunshine in my life, that I burst about it.  Even when you’re angry, it’s ok, I know sooner or later you will shine.  Things that I love about you:

• Your passion. It’s as intense as mine.
• Your ability to dance  and sing loudly without being self-conscious to anything you feel like singing or dancing to.
• Your infectious excitement over the littlest things, like snow.
• The way you hug and kiss and sometimes still do nosy-nosy with me.
• Your laugh.
• Your little hoppity jig.
• Your skill at spelling and photography.

Ok, a mommy moment, because serious, sweetie, I could go on and ON.  I’ve been blessed to be your mom, to have a treasure like you live with me.  Blessings on your head sweet pea, today and all the days of your life.
