Crazy weekend!

Tooth broke. On popcorn. This happened to my mother a number of times but she wasn’t as young as me, so I’m sort of freaked out. We’re known for having really strong teeth in my family.  I didn’t swallow it, but I did spit it down the drain, not knowing it was my tooth.  My thought process was this:

“Hm, that’s a really hard kernel.”

Chew chew chew.

“Wow, REALLY hard.  I can’t break it up at all.  Phooey, let me spit it out.”

Spit.

“Hm, I can’t get this thing out of my tooth.  Where’s the floss?”

Flossing.

DEAD PANIC.   “Honey!!! Is my tooth broken??!!!  Augh, I’m freaking out!!!”  (Followed by 3 minutes of a comedy routine whereby we try to try to find enough light for him to see my bottom molar, and yells at me for putting my tongue in the way several times.)

“Yes, it’s cracked, but not all the way to the bottom, so you want have to have root canal.”

Root canal??

And it does look cracked to the bottom to me, and I can’t find a local dentist that takes my plan.  Joy. Ah well, it’s my own fault for eating popcorn and pistachio nuts on the same day.

Omg. lol. Are you in pain? Dont freak out to much. I smashed both my front teeth on the bottom of a inground pool when I was about 12 .. they put bonding on them and fixed them right up. They told me the bonding would only last a few years which isnt true. Last much longer. every time they break again, I just get more bonding put on. Not a big deal. when ou find a dentist.. tell them outright you broke your tooth and needed it bonded.. so much cheaper too. Route canal they will milk ya for a few hundred.

Well, that’s what hubby says! I had the tip of my front tooth chipped as a child and the bonding wore off, but it took a decade or two. By then, I didn’t care, the chip was tiny.

Hubby had root canal done locally and it fell out in less than a year! I won’t go to that dentist. Unfortunately, thus far I can’t find a dentist taking my ridiculous long distance plan. bummer.

Not in pain, but the exposed area is sore after I eat. I don’t want to get food stuck. I don’t think it’s an exposed nerve or I’d be in a lot of pain! We shall see how this all pans out. I swear I live in a soap opera sometimes, lol!

You would definitely be in alot of pain. I’ve had a root canal..now that spot is empty. everyone I have ever met who had them didnt last that long. You are better off getting the tooth pulled ( if its not in front. ). Its so much cheaper and the aggrevation you save is priceless.

Ugh, not a big fan of pain, particularly in the face! In fact, I think I have a small level of sensory disorder in certain areas. Oh well…
