Mamavation Mondays: Succeeding and Failing

Filed Under: just for mom, nontoxic

mamavation sistahoodWhat is the definition of fail?  Or succeed?

I don’t know,  but I’ve been thinking a lot about it.  I’ve been struggling with the Fast Metabolism diet because it takes away my favorite things: coffee. wine. chocolate.  coffee.  and did I mention, coffee?

Yup, I’m a full blown addict, I swear, I think about that delicious warm, brown liquid concoction with a dollop of milk day and night.

Wait, where was I?

Anyway, I wasn’t really doing too badly, until..we went away this weekend. (More on that later this week.)  I had a drink, well, 2, but I can’t be blamed, since we were positioned right next to the TV on Friday night, at about 8:00PM EST, which was  playing CNN, and we got to sit there with the staff watching as they captured Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.  Sheesh.  And their menu didn’t *quite* meld with the diet, and repeat all that for Saturday day.  Sunday I only managed to get in 3 meals out of 5, and today I was off schedule, but not as bad.

Considering it’s a detox diet, that means “UGH!”  Oh, and I forgot to mention the cake I ate.  Or the chocolate.  I guess I don’t mix with diets 🙁

But all was not lost!  I bought some small dumbbells to work out with.  I wanted to get 2 lbs, but husband pushed me to get 5lbs, and I’m glad I did.  Although I think I may have bruised a muscle, I used them.  OMG.  I am NOT good at weightlifting, but I did it, and the strength workout went wonderfully!  And I had the sore muscles to prove it the next day 🙂  THAT made me feel really good about myself, and I’m excited for the next workout!

ps-no photos of the dumbbells since my weird cat spent the night on them and they *quite* fuzzy. they look ancient now, lol.

We all have set backs. What’s important is overcoming them! Props to you for starting to work out, AND attempting a detox. Detoxing is HARD! Best wishes to you over the next week.

Thank you, Lisa! Yea, detox is awful, but it doesn’t last forever 🙂

Welcome!
