I hope that some of the tips I’ve provided on how to eat organic and allergen free while on a budget have helped you, but this weekend, we had a BIG savings, so I wanted to share the details with you. One of our favorite brands for treats is Enjoy Life Foods. They are free of the top 8 allergens and are Project Non-GMO Verified, and we’ve liked everything we’ve tried by them: cookies, chocolate chips for baking, pancake mix, candy. Because we are big fans and because I had rebates, I didn’t want to miss out on monster savings so this weekend I planned to pick up a bunch of Enjoy Life goodies.
1. Check your rebate apps for deals.
Some apps will send you notices about the latest deals, but I always check. First, I checked out my Ibotta app. It turned out that Wegmans and Giant were having rebates available through Ibotta, if I bought three of any product.
2. Check for brand coupons.
If you buy Enjoy Life cookies regularly, you know they go through periods where they will put a “buy 2 get $1.50” off on their cookie boxes. I always store these up and since we don’t buy cookies that often, I . Check out their coupon page for that deal now right now too! You can also Google or check my coupon page, which I update every few days, for coupons from Coupons.com, Redplum, Hopster and more.
3. Check your store for the best deal.
Which stores had the best price? Which carry all the stock? Giant sends me weekly in-store coupons that I can load directly to my card, and they have an app now as well. I can also check my Cartwheel App for Target. Target had the best price, but Wegman’s carried the chocolate bars and snacks, which the other stores I shop don’t.

Giant coupons for members.
4. Make purchases and keep your receipt.
It’s critical – you’ll need to take a photo of the receipt for the app. For Ibotta, you’ll also need to swipe the bar code on the package.
How’d I do?
Here goes:
3 candy bars x $1.89 each = 5.67
1 snack bar package = 3.69
1 box of cookies = 3.79
Total cost before savings: $13.15
Coupons: 2 x 1.50 = 3.00
Cost after coupons: $10.15
Rebate from Checkout 51: $4.00
Rebate from Ibotta: $3.50
Final cost after rebates: $3.15
Total savings: $10.00, or over 76% off. Not too shabby for Non-GMO Allergen Free food!
So, I’m revising the recommendation I made last time. I suggest you hoard coupons in advance, and then plan to buy the best deals when the rebate apps kick in savings. This is the most I’ve saved on a product, barring free item codes from prizes and campaigns. This will also help you create a shopping list when you go. Good luck savings on clean foods!
