Oh my gosh, it sure is HARD to be the mom of kids with disabilities, medical needs, allergies, special diets, gut issues, autism! So much to do and so little time.
This leaves moms like us with almost no energy and very little rest! Even when you do hit the sack, you are probably worrying about the NEXT thing you need to do: a doctor’s visit, scheduling a specialist, the next therapy session, an IEP meeting, a new protocol, a new medical diagnosis.
In 14 years, here’s some of the stress that’s kept me up at night raising my lovely children:
- Why did they suddenly regress?
- How will I teach her about her period?
- Will she ever potty train?
- How can I help her communicate?
- Is her aide hurting her?
- There’s a bullying problem at school.
- Will she ever be accepted?
And since I have daughters, here’s the big one:
BOYS.
No, really, what will I do about teenaged boys when they come into my kids’ lives?? Should I sign them up for self-defense and martial arts now? (Just kidding!)
