Summer break is over, and the kids are finally back in school! For many of us moms, that means a time to organize and get back to being us.
For me, this also means accomplishing my dreams, some of which have fallen by the wayside and others that have not been productive or organized.
I have tons of calendars in my home – the kids’ school calendar, the protocol calendar, the family activities calendar, the work calendar, but what do I have for my own goals?
Over the summer, it was important to buy creative items for the kids to get their brains going, although my teenager pretty much turned her nose up at them!
The Dreams I’ve Put On The Backburner
This summer, my hands were full for a number of reasons, such as my daughter’s unexpected regression and all the things in our house breaking.
Now, however, it’s my turn. I have a full plate that I’m interested in going through, and here are some of the things I’m working on this fall, hoping to complete or at least, regularly work on all by end of year.
- Focusing more on my own health.
- More tightly focus this blog to moms raising kids with autism and helping families detox.
- Work on my marketing business.
- Writing my novel again.
- Publishing an ebook and/or course.
- Completing the health coach course I started.
- Starting a regular live show.
Do you have dreams you’ve put to the side so that you can get your kids through the summer? Maybe it’s time to revisit some of them.
How I’m Starting to Accomplish My Dreams
So all that is great, but what specific steps am I taking? Here are a few steps for moving forward:
Sparking Creativity
I have a lot going on, and a lot of writing to do but I know all too well that burnout is always waiting at the door – especially for writers! Because of that, I have to make sure I keep creative. To do that, we grown ups need to remember that it’s not just the kiddos who can have their creativity sparked!
Fostering My Business
In May, I signed up for a product I really believe in. I wasn’t really going to do the network marketing side, but something in me said, “DO IT.” So now I have 4 prospective events, just from a “little” incentive, and my first consultant recruit!! I’m also taking coaching for both business and blog.
Replenishing My Health
I did a poor job of staying fit. I gained weight, which is partly because of premenopause but also because it’s hard to get to the gym with kiddos around. I’m starting back at the gym next week! I’m ALSO joining a 10 day detox cleanse. Can’t WAIT to get my energy back!
Setting My Goals
I’m dipping my feet back into the novel, with the goal of having it finished by spring time, so I can do some research into colonial times. For me, that research is a fun treat.
I’m also thinking about long term goals, like my dream of a British Isle Disney Cruise for the family. That means I need to focus on being productive and targeted with my income and work goals, as well as life.
All this might need a little nudge to help you get going and that’s where Quarto Group comes in.
