Two years ago, I never – ever – shopped online for groceries. But once we cut out preservatives and dyes, I had to find more affordable options. It wasn’t easy – and then I discovered online shopping. The truth is you simply cannot do frugal organic eating without shopping online. Here are stores I use or have used, and a few friend-recommended ones too!

FRUGAL ORGANIC ONLINE SHOPPING VENDORS

AMAZON

I never thought I’d recommend them, but after getting some Amazon gift certificates, I realized that they DO have great offers. The key is to know your price points and to make sure you order enough for free shipping. Amazon also has a program where you can set & autoship your regular purchases and get even more discounts. Here are my best buys at Amazon:

SunButter Natural Sunflower Seed Spread, 16-Ounce Plastic Jars (Pack of 6): This stuff is not just pricy, it went UP DRASTICALLY since i started buying it. Cheapest I can get it locally is $6.49 at Wegmans, if I’m lucky. That’s what I do if I have a Hopster coupon; otherwise I can get 6 for around $35, which is good enough for free shipping. HOT TIP: Key an eye out on their other varieties at Amazon. One time, I scored 6 jars of their organic SunButter spread for $32!

Nature’s Gate Natural Toothpaste: A friend tipped me off to this one! Our natural dentist recommended this fluoride-free brand but it’s pricy. The great thing is that by the tube, it’s $4.99 by me, so unless I have a coupon, Amazon has WAY better deals, totally worth stocking up:

  • Nature’s Gate Natural Toothpaste, Creme de Peppermint, 6-Ounce Tubes (Pack of 6) > under $21
  • Nature’s Gate Natural Toothpaste without Fluoride, Wintergreen Gel, 5 oz (141 g) (Pack of 4) > under $14

Simply Organic This is the only spice brand I know is not irradiated and the only extract brand I trust as well, but even small bottles of it are very pricy. Amazon has the best deals on the larger jars of either spice or extract:

  • Simply Organic Cinnamon Ground Certified Organic, 2.45-Ounce Container
  • Simply Organic Vanilla Extract — 4 fl oz

VITACOST

What I love about Vitacost is that once you log in, they will give you a list of coupon code that you are eligible for in your “Promo Pocket” tab. They also have some amazing pricing, especially on large tubs of coconut oil, and they have a $49 free shipping threshold (although they drop it to $25 from time to time.) They also have a “Set &Save” autoship discount for your regular purchases.  They also have a great sorting ability for all kinds of diets and I’ve done plenty of Gluten Free shopping here. Check out their current sweepstakes too. Best Buys:

  • Nutiva Organic Coconut Oil, 54 ounce > $25.19 on 6/12/14, but I’ve seen it as low as $21.
  • Gluten Free Flours: I always comparison shop between this and the next 2 shops. Look for multipack savings.

I *wish* I could join their affiliate program, however, they DO have a referral program that anyone can join. Simply refer a friend once you’ve signed up and YOU AND YOUR FRIEND both get a $10 coupon. That’s awesome! This is my link>> https://www.vitacostrewards.com/LuyLA7S

VITAMIN SHOPS

Not just for vitamins, these great stores feature lots of gluten-free foods and more. If you are shopping for bulk flours in rare brands (like Namaste, a favorite of mine), I recommend you price compare at Vitacost, Lucky Vitamins and Swanson.

PLEASE SHARE IF YOU HAVE ANY ONLINE VENDORS THAT PROVIDE EXCELLENT SAVINGS FOR ORGANIC OR GLUTEN-FREE BRANDS!
