We’ve gotten to this point in making food choices for my family, that I simply find it easier to buy USDA Organic or Project Non-GMO Verified, almost all the time. Additionally, for non food items, when we can’t find organic, pure ingredients, we look for “free from” ingredients.
The problem with that is it can be costly! We all know that you get what you pay for, and organic and nontoxic products do cost more because you are simply getting a better quality product.
That’s why I’m so pleased to be working with Nature’s Promise, sampling a variety of products from this brand found at GIANT Food Stores. Nature’s Promise line contains lots of USDA Organic food option, and lots of “free from” non-food products too.
What I love best is that Nature’s Promise provides affordable organic and free-from foods so I can feed my family. Started in 2004, GIANT Food Stores and MARTIN’S Food Markets launched its own line to address the growing need of families like ours. Currently, there are over 800 items to choose from, including perishable and non-perishable, health, beauty care, and household items – and that list continues to grow as they develop new items, great new for GIANT loyal shoppers like myself. It also helps me narrow my focus and shop in one location, rather than traipsing to lots of different stores!
All of Nature’s Promise organic products meet the standards of the USDA National Organic Program and bear the USDA Organic Seal. All of their “free from” products clearly label what is not found int he products.
Because we need to so cautious with our non-GMO, allergen-free diet, we tend to spend most of our budget on food. That said, we don’t just “shop,” we have a structured process for keeping our home well-stocked for two growing girls. (Who knew that teenagers ate that much???)
Affordable Organic Food Shopping Made Easy
Look, I’m not really an organized person, but saving the most you can on your organic, free-from grocery list does take a bit of planning.
Step 1: Printing Online Coupons
Because we eat specialized brands, I review all my coupons sites to get those few brands that I need to be nit-picky about. Sensitive eaters sometimes have to do this!
Step 2: Coupons from GIANT
There are two ways we earn these coupons. First of all, I get flyers in the mail. GIANT is the one shop that actually sends lots of coupons for their Nature’s Promise free-from brand, unlike other stores that mostly send coupons for their generic brands. Even better, though, if you sign up for GIANT’S email, you get clued into coupons that you can load directly to your GIANT card for bigger savings.

Step 3: Reviewing GIANT’S Weekly Flyer for Deals
Once we get to GIANT, I take a peak at the flyer. Last week, I was psyched that most of their Nature’s Promise products were on sale including 25% off meats! We stocked up. The flyer also has a few additional coupons, sometimes for something organic or a great “additional gas points” coupon.
Step 4: Shop!
We always start in the organic produce section and make our way to the gluten free aisle, the next one over in our store. You want to go early because when they have a sale, you can find yourself with no sunflower butter on hand! One of our favorite new buys is Nature’s Promise Organic Popcorn. It’s so good!
Step 5: Checking Out & Your GIANT Card

The key to shopping with your kids is to unload the cart yourself. That way, you won’t get home and wonder why you have that dye-loaded candy in your grocery bags! Try not to forget to bring your card. I’m pretty sure I’m famous with my GIANT store clerks for leaving it in the car! They are so kind, they always watch my stuff.
If you do forget, the clerks can ring it up using a generic card. In that case, save your receipt so you can come back and have customer service credit the purchase for points. For a big shop, it’s worth it since those points help you save so much on gas!
Step 6: Save Receipts for the Rebate Apps
Don’t toss your receipt just yet! I’m always checking Berry Cart, Ibotta, Checkout 51 and SavingStar for additional cashback. Sometimes it’s not much but every little bit helps, believe me.
