This month, I’m going to be focusing on autism, but more about that tomorrow. So my lessons posts may or may not cover both the girls, for now.
Meanwhile, today I want to share my gratitude. It hit me as a friend was discussing her struggles, how blessed I am, with my children. And while we plow through the homeopathy and discover how it will change my kids, I’m happy with a number of things:
- Progress reports that really show PROGRESS, in some things anyway
- I’ve always called Zoe nonverbal, but truly she is not as I spoke with someone who clarified it for me. And it’s more than sounds she makes. She does say words, more every week, and can sometimes manage sentences. I’m grateful for that.
- While we are having some behaviors due to, I presume, homeopathy, I’m blessed that my kids are well-behaved mostly, are not aggressive or self-injurious, and can sit in a restaurant, enjoy a theme park, and attend events like movies and bowling. Not every kid can.
- My kids are extremely loving, and Amelia is also aware of apologies and forgiveness. It’s a lovely thing!
Life is good, even with the nutty stress going on, I can honestly tell you I thank God every day for my family. They are the joy in my life! Look, here’s proof. There’s my baby, enjoying her Easter craft AND wearing sleeves! Cool.
