Well, I must say the last 10 days flew by! So I will update you all, starting with the holiday. I hope all you who celebrate had a nice holiday, whether you ate a large feast with a big group or, like someone I know, had some ice cream with the kids and then went home and made potatoes & stuffing. Isn’t it awesome that everyone has their own way?
Thanksgiving and Black Friday were an enormous carb-fest, but nobody can cook like my cousins. A great time was had, but sort of ruined by my aunt a little, who feels the need to corner me and save my soul every few years. I wonder what would happen if she knew she was a large contributor to my running away from Christianity for so many years? The next day she wanted me to allow her to pray over Zoe’s, um, “infirmity” SIGH. Exhale deeply. I thought to say no would entice a lecture. My aunt doesn’t just pray, she speaks in tongues and lays her hand on so hard it’s terrifying (she is actually trying to knock the devil out of us heathens, I believe)I spent the whole time calming and cooing to Zoe because lots of things can set my little one off, and the scene was, as usual, scary for ME even. Anyway, that got me on a whole week-long “do I really want to follow this religion” deal in my head, and though I struggled, God was with me.
This was the first Black Friday we went shopping, buying the girls LOVELY dresses and a whole host of other things at what is becoming my favorite store: Kohls. Really, I love everything I buy there! And then go buy more. It’s a dangerous place to be near…
Saturday was picture day, which failed miserably Let’s just say that expensive chain was really good at counting down how much time we had allotted for a sitting, but not really good at ACTUALLY SNAPPING ANY PHOTOS. We got like 15 shots after 30 minutes, which included only about 4 of Amelia, all of which sucked. So we walked out.
Sunday I didn’t feel good, so we skipped church and later went to Toll Brothers and started to plan for building our dream home. Hey, it could happen…
Tuesday I went to a Southern Living show at my next door neighbors and hung out with these awesome women. What fun! Haven’t had a relaxing girls day in FOREVER. Chris let me stay without a call for about 4 hours, how cool is that? Just what I needed, and I got some great ideas for decorating my home.
Work was hectic ALL week. Zoe is improving from getting her arms brushed at daycare (it’s an OT thing). She’s not sleeping and Amelia isn’t eating, so it hasn’t been the easiest of weeks, but there you go.
Tonight we reserved our first awesome fake tree at Wegman’s (LOVE that store, worth moving to PA for) and tomorrow we have a full day at Christkindlmarket, but who knows how to spell it? Oh and had a nice time at Carabba’s tonight, plus we’re thinking of going back to Kohl’s for more clothes (3 times in 10 days – is that bad???)
I am pooped. I have lots of ideas and have to better plan my time and start planning home decor soon too. We can paint starting in January (new build thing, you should wait a year). It’s a nice Christmas this year too, financially, hoping the plans work out well.
