Disney World Family Trip, 2011, Day 1, Part 2

Filed Under: family travel, tech & play Tagged With: vacation

So Sunday morning we were sad we had to leave the Polynesian Resort at WDW. I didn’t, though, mention half of what we did! Here’s the low down:

  • On Saturday, we spent time in the pool.  We didn’t realize that temps were over 100 at one point, which means 3 sunburnt grown ups.  Zoe LOVES swimming but all of a sudden she was out of it. I freaked out, but took her out of the pool.  She got even weirder, so I ran her back to the room, which was a bit of an out door trek.  She stopped and threw up all the fruit she had. Then 2 steps, and more vomit. Two more…and this time she SOAKED mommy right down the front of my bathing suit. (Ewww, I may never eat strawberries again!)  One more time and she was down, so we laid down.
  • An hour or two later, she was back to herself. Chris had bought Disney tickets so we went to Magic Kingdom.  Zoe loved the Laugh Floor and Amelia loved everything.
  • Amelia had a good time and GOT DOWN with Stitch.  We now have to see another Disney movie, lol…
  • Major coup!  Zoe LOVED the fireworks show.  In past years, she’s been terrified of any fireworks at all. Chris bought a few this month and set them off by the house, and she was ok, but this time, she smiled and laughed throughout the show. Yay, Zoe!

Amelia, naturally, was unfazed by sun, rides or heat:

My daughter, shaking it with all she’s got, with a VERY cool Stitch.

Oh no! What a mess! The heat can do that to her I guess…

I’m so glad your trip went well. I was actually praying that it would, because one of your posts the week before really touched my heart. (the post about how you just want pizza!) 🙂 I’m glad you all could get away for a little fun!

I wish I could take my kids($$$) – perhaps you could pray for me too 🙂
