Well, I feel as though I’ve really fallen behind on this blog, but
the work has been PILING up. Supposed to start a new project on
Monday and I’m TRYING to figure out how the heck to build an
aggregator. Tough projects.
Meanwhile, Sunday was an awesome (though mostly rainy) day where we
dedicated our lovely daughters to God at our church. It was a
great service, even though my only family to make it was my parents and
Chris’ mom. That was ok, though, I felt my church family was
there, and before I get too wussy on THAT topic, let’s just say it was
enough. Pastor Lenny got all choked up when he held Amelia, and
had to wait to speak, during which time my little sweet pea nestled in
to hug him tightly. (She often does that when people cry.) He
said that he didn’t see a girl with Down Syndrome but a child filled
with love. He also can’t wait til she’s old enough to recruit as
a door greeter before mass! Zoe he doesn’t know as well, but
described her as a happy girl full of life, like her name. There
were tears, laughter and the quintessential “ahhh” as my girls did the
Cute Little Girl thing. We all prayed and then it was time for an
awesome and successful party at our house with WAY too much food.
This was followed by us hanging out at our neighbor’s house til the wee
hours (or 11:30pm).
I felt this was a very good decision and the right thing to do.
Yes, I have my doubts on this whole Christian experience but I have a
long blog on that coming to you probably tomorrow. For now, it’s
almost 4pm and I forgot to eat lunch. I will try to upload some
pictures this weekend.
