I’ve been working very hard lately to bring nutrition and natural
stuff into my home. My kids are not big veggie eaters, but then
again, how can you make them taste good without losing the
nutrients. Right now, there are blueberries, strawberries,
cantalope, bananas, broccoli, green beans, and a tomato in my
kitchen. This week I plan on making potato, tomato, green bean,
onion salad with vinegar. Delicious!
Wow, that was a better list than I thought!
I need to get the girls to get their minds off of chocolate and cookies and back on fruit for snack and dessert.
Meanwhile, I switched to organic peanut butter and while it MUST be
refrigerated, it’s not bad. I’m also eating Kashi and GoLean all
natural oatmeal, which is awesome, especially with berries and
nuts. Amelia likes it too but not with the extras. I tried
Kashi blueberry natural waffles but it tasted like cardboard.
Man, is my tongue used to sugar!
I’ve also switched to non-white flour pasta. I think I’m using
Barilla, which is packed with Omega 3 and stuff. The key to this
is that you have to cook the meatballs and sauce just SO because
personally the taste is blah.
We still like cookies too much, and I bought the sugary multigrain
Cheerios (yea, I know it’s white flour), but I’m getting there – and
the proof was that I lost a few more pounds and I’m back to a “correct”
weight – the size I’ve almost always been. Exercise and vitamins
need to be added to the mix, and I have to do better putting 5 in girls
daily (or at least some vitamins!) but we are slowly on the train to
