I’d love to introduce you today to Kozie ClothesTM. This company creates clothing, adaptive medical equipment and items for children with sensory issues. Their Temperature Control clothing helps kids with thermal regulation.

What? What’s Thermal Regulation?

Thermal or temperature regulation is the ability to keep your body at a proper temperature even when your environment has a different temperature. As you go through your day, your body looses and produces heat. When that heat you lose and heat you make are out of balance, your body temperature rises or falls. Now, all kids have more difficulty regulating their body temperature than adults – due more surface area producing more heat during exercise, less blood pumped and several other reasons. Kids with different conditions and medical issues, such as cancer, thyroid disease, Down syndrome, autism and sensory processing disorder, generally have even more difficulty. For example, Zoe is hypersensitive to heat, but largely is oblivious to even freezing cold. Amelia, on the other hand, frequently suffers icy extremities, irregardless of the actual temperature. These breakdowns in thermal regulation can lead to more trouble.

Kozie’s Temperature Control Clothing Can Help

Their shirts are made with Outlast Patented Technology that assists the child in regulating skin temperature. As their site reads, “This material proactively buffers temperature swings to prevent, delay, and significantly reduce sweating.  Our fabric is combined with other reactive technologies for added benefit including antimicrobial, wicking, and odor control.” They actively balance temperature to prevent sweating and temperature swings, control skin temperature and provide sensory comfort. my Jack is super sensory sensitive….I wonder how he would feel about this shirt. It looks cute and cool.

  2. Jessica @EatSleepBe says

I’ve been trying to buy more thermal regulated gloves and socks. They are great for people with Raynaud’s!

    • Gina B says

Good to know! The socks are awesome! My kids turn their noses up at gloves UNLESS there is snow or ice to play with :) Bit of divine payback, I’d NEVER wear a hat for my mom!

  3. Jennifer M. says

I hope I win this for my son age 10. He has TS, Aspergers, ADHD and sensory issues. For example, he barely eats anything because he hates the texture of almost all food.

  4. Michelle T says

I’d like to win this shirt for my son’s best friend. Hopefully it’d help him have one less thing distract him in school.

  5. Simone says

This would be awesome for my 14 yr old with DS/ASD who will only commit to one layer of clothing.
