Review: iMommy App #ad

A great thing about the iPad is the tons of educational apps they have for kids. An interesting new app is the iMommy app, which lets your child take care of a virtual baby.

When I loaded up this app, Zoe took right to it! Of course, her favorite part was feeding the baby – she wanted to explore every area of the kitchen. She loved customizing him too – I was surprised to see her select blonde hair! She really snazzed up Baby Zoe’s wardrobe too as you can see:

When she put him to bed, she selected the toy that looked the most like her own teddy bear, of course. It’s so nice to see that type of engagement in a barely verbal child! You get to walk through different kinds of baby care including playtime and this one:

Actually, we had even more fun when she pooped! You can also download iMommy Lite for free. This app comes with in-game purchases, so be cautious when letting your kids play – better yet, restrict the settings when they’re in there. The Lite version comes with only a few rooms, bu you can add on 6 more for $2.99, or put on the full app for $4.99. And there are a few extras you can add to the game, like a beach scene or eliminating ads.

Right now, it’s only available for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch, but an Android version is in the works. The owner told me they hope to have it by the end of the year.

Zoe really loved this app and played with it until she ran out of options. I can see why it’s so popular! It’s a top 100 app for iPad. I couldn’t stop playing with it myself so I’m going to give this app a thumb’s up! Plus a toddler version is also coming out soon – that should be lots of fun!

Mine too! I’m happy they’re getting off the videos and really into the educational apps, at last.
