This was a tough year, but it was also interesting and exciting! I finally relaunched and rebranded this blog, and I’m absolutely loving everything about it. Since February, we’ve had a lot of engagement, so without further ado, here is the best of Embracing Imperfect this year:
February: Welcome to Mom Blog’s New Home
A new launch was scary but it gave me direction and focus – even it if took most of the year to accomplish!
You guys loved my review of this app, teach2talk for the iPad. Did you try it? Do you like it? Our iPad, sadly, has gone to that great iPad tech shop in the sky…
Friendships have never been easy to navigate and God worked on my really hard this year. I’d love to say I’m all good, but this is a sore point with me. Here is what I learned about healing friendships you can’t fix.
May: Lessons from Mothers of the Bible: How to Teach Your Kids about God.. Read my whole “Mothers of the Bible” series.
I loved writing this series so much! Jochebed is a favorite Bible figure, because she raised the man considered to be one of the greatest Old Testament leaders, Moses. I have a decent handle now, and I teach the girls about God every chance I get!
Not only were friendships tested this year, my marriage was in a rough patch too. I remember saying to Chris last December, when all the bad stuff came to a head, “In a year, this will be a year behind us.” And it turned out to be true! I wouldn’t say we’re in a 2nd honeymoon, but we are ALL GOOD and getting there. The best really is yet to come…
July: Recovering Autism with BioMed (republished & updated)
Once upon a time, I had no hope for my precious little girl. And yes, we’ve been deep into regression this year, but I have so much hope now! Read my reflection back on where our journey started:
August: The TRUTH about Living GMO Free
GMO, non-GMO, certified organic – it’s all tough on your budget, your schedule and your life. I do it imperfectly. Next year, I’m going to share where and how to cheat, when you should NEVER go GMO and how to make it all much, much easier.
September: Fun Toys to Engage Your Kids in Science:
I’m always looking for great toys that are fun fo my kids – and I guess you are too! Automobile Engineer is a bit young for my kids but they love it more than Lego. Who knew?
October: My 2015 list of favorite Allergen-free Halloween Candy, but good for all your candy needs! I love sharing the amazing brands that we allow in this house WHEN we are doing sugar. In 2016, I’ll recommend many more shortcut brands for you.
The holidays were just awful in 2015, but this year? They were smooth and really cheered me up! Here is how I managed to make this year better and what you can do to make those special events a good thing and NOT an event to dread.
December: My review of the Discovery Kids Space Projector. It’s so cool we have science lovers out there!!
Meanwhile, I wish you a happy & healthy new year!
